I saw an Ulrich Schnauss mix that apparently was available on DefaultResponse but the comment was "removed at the request of the artist." Does anyone have details on why he wanted it removed? (BTW, it was circa 2002) None of the City Centre Offices stuff is available domestically in the US, is it? Not to be a hater or anything, just curious. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Win a $20,000 Career Makeover at Yahoo! HotJobs

No idea about the mix, but I do know I've bought both Static albums and both Schnauss albums on CD from my local store (Rasputin's in Campbell CA) .. Threw me for a bit because they file CCO and morr in with the 'indie' labels next to the Promise Ring albums, but whatever. -- Eric Sorenson - EXPLOSIVE Networking - http://explosive.net --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

it came out before a strangely isolated place did, and it contained a lot of songs from that album. i'm guessing that he didn't want those songs available to the public until his cd came out...or something like that. i managed to download it before they took it down, so you can get it from me on slsk. username=kwikyslush. side note- i once saw a live show that was supposedly brothomstates and ulrich schnauss on slsk. i checked it out, and it ended up being either brothomstate's default show or ulrich's default show. i can't remember which one it was, thus making this comment useless. either way, don't waste your time downloading it. brandon invergo --- David Seruyange <idmkid@yahoo.com> wrote:

just to echo and add a little to eric's reply, i haven't seen any of the cco releases in physical stores, but i know that skimo, playing by ear and forced exposure all carry them for online sale. that being said, i can't wait to hear the new christian kleine disc, "real ghosts". his first disc for cco was an absolute stand-out on an already phenomenal label. best christopher Original Message: ----------------- From: Eric Sorenson eric@explosive.net Date: Mon, 10 May 2004 10:14:00 -0700 (PDT) To: idmkid@yahoo.com, idm@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [idm] Ulrich's Stingy Vibe On Mon, 10 May 2004, David Seruyange wrote:

Holy crap, _Real Ghosts_ is good, and imagine my shock when, about track two or three, he starts *rocking out*. Not at all what you'd expect from the guy who brought you "Kritzel", but very welcome. -- Eric Sorenson - EXPLOSIVE Networking - http://explosive.net --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I was really dissapointed in the album, i think it sounds very dated and unoriginal. I've been a big Christian Kleine fan for awhile, both his solo work and the Hermann And Kleine stuff, and was very excited about this new release. I dont think the guitar work on it stands alone as decent music, and the underlying beats seem very '97 simple or something. Also downloaded a few things recommended by the list, RATATAT and dDamage which i've also been dissapointed in. They both just seem second rate and uninspired. My recent favs have been the Zeigenbock Kopf album on tigerbeat6, John Dwyers fucked up electronic band, the new Remote Viewer mini lp 'You'll Love Our Defeatest Attitude', the BitStream material my friend was letting me hear, and i guess lots of noisey indie-pop - Party Of One, Sluts Of Trust, and this excellent German band called Like A Stuntman. -thor --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yeah, thats the Zeigenbock Kopf stuff - "Ultra-lo-fi, mysterious, and frighteningly addictive slut-punk duo Zeigenbock Kopf (German brothers Hans and Uli Bunschlaper with aid from Detlef) have left the flaccid and impotent dance scene of Berlin behind forever. Their beats pummel. Their bass is too loud and the highs are acrid. They came to San Francisco not to embrace the dance scene or the gay pride parades, but to destroy clubs and to hurt those who open themselves up to victimization by hurters. More strangeness from one-man industry John Dwyer (Coachwhips, Pink and Brown)" http://www.midheaven.com/artists/zeigenbock.kopf.html -thor --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Just to throw in my two cents, CCO material is definitely physically available in North America, as I got my copies of M. Caney and K. Joory's 'Magic Radios' and the last I'm Not A Gun release at Rotate This in Toronto. Paul --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Win a $20,000 Career Makeover at Yahoo! HotJobs
