Does anyone on here live near East Kilbride? I'm going to be up there DJing this saturday at the Arts Centre at a thing my friend is putting on, sorta electronic visual/audio night. Heres more details.. --------------=================================------------ Psychoacoustics Saturday 23rd August 2003 8.00pm - late ?5/4 entry Drinks promos East Kilbride Arts Centre 51-53 Old Coach Road East Kilbride Making a long awaited return to the East Kilbride Arts Centre on Saturday the 23rd of August, Psychoacoustics is back - bigger and better than before. This time out both the Arts Cafe Bar and the theatre space at the Arts Centre will be in the hands of the Psychoacoustics dj's joined by guest dj Thorsten Sideb0ard, continuing in the same eclectic and electronic vein as the last event in May. Co-founder of Highpoint Lowlife records, curator of mp3-only online record label 8bitrecs.com and self confessed Linux evangelist,Thorsten Sideb0ard has been djing and setting up live electronic shows for a number of years now. From his now defunct weekly Node club in San Francisco, to his present bi-monthly series in London - 'Not Clickable'. Recent credits also include regular guest spots with London's Slow Sound System and an appearance at The ICA on London's South Bank as part of the Cybersonica festival. Psychoacoustics promises to be a visually stimulating night with contributions from artists both local and international. These include Belgian visual artist Ewo of Brussels music and art collective Plexiphonic. Ewo has been experimenting with paint and photography for over ten years now. Describing her work as an obsessive need to express her emotions, it was not long until Ewo tired of the static mediums in which she was used to working and got hold of a video camera, giving her the opportunity to relate her work to her other great passion, music. Ewo's relationship with electronic music goes further than that of a passive listener. Also featured is Glasgow graphic illustrator Kev Harper exhibiting a selection of recent work for the first time exclusively for Psychoacoustics.
