sorry but i didnt really know where else to ask - anyone know where to start, im a noobie but i heard some of his choral works, i liked them, but i didnt catch any names. sort of got into baroque type music after 'reading godel, escher, bach' (a+ book for those interested in anything) but i guess brahms isnt baroque but anyway i need help. thanx! I'd advise you without a blink to head immediately to his "Ein Deutsches Requiem" also known as Brahms' Requiem. WONDERFUL. And although I know it's OT and I could easily have replied off-list, I feel that anybody who seriously enjoys music will benefit by giving this a listen. more votes for it. it is one of the most difficult pieces for the choir due to its length and the way the piece moves. anybody in the classic know either loves it or hates it like the plaque. i have a live recording of brahms' requiem as performed by a talented sf coral group and orchestra at some cathedral in walnut creed i did back when Akai DRD4's were the shizz. was an experiment - balls to the wall - direct to 2-tracks. i remember due to limited mic placement i wanted to secretly shoot a poison dart into the tymphany players neck but in post-production it sounded kinda nutz - in a good way :) now where did that protools archive run off to... :P -=dave ----- Original Message ----- From: Irene McC To: loines@earthlink.net ; idm@hyperreal.org Sent: Tuesday, February 11, 2003 2:11 AM Subject: Re: [idm] OT - Brahms On 10 Feb 2003 at 20:40, Randi Oines wrote: > but i guess brahms isnt baroque but anyway i need help.
