I'm one more who is sad, although I sorta lost interest after they went totally metal after losing much of the electronics after Pure and Merciless. My favorite live performance of all time is still Skinny Puppy with Godflesh at the Palladium in Hollywood in 93, and Godflesh put on the most physically punishing, pummelling, pounding shows of all time at the Troubadour just a couple years ago. I did see that for this latest tour that they cancelled here in California, GC Green wasn't even touring with Justin, so it's not all surprising that they've called it a day. No doubt Justin will continue with Kevin Martin in Techno Animal.

Along the same lines. Anyone on this list into Scorn? I believe that it's Mick Harris from Napalm Death and some other guy. Really dark dub type stuff. A little less intense than Godflesh. Also, Mick Harris has an ambient project called Lull. Super dark ambient music. I dig it. Sucks that Godflesh broke up. I got my friend's copy of Songs of Love and Hate. Never got to give it back to him before he passed away. Can anyone suggest a few other Godflesh albums for me to check out? <raises hand> hehehe.. I was just listening to the coil remix of dreamspace. Mick Harris and Anthony (surgeon) Child were playing out live together a bit on the European festival circuit a while back.. did they ever do any studio work together? I know they have both remixed each other a few times, I'm wondering if there is any collaborative releases out there though? 411 appreciated.. ~g -- Greg Smith http://www.laiad.com "There is no such thing as a perfectly accurate clock. Yep, definately 'streetcleaner' is an absolutely essential album, one i bought years ago and still love - so much feedback! so much noise! ...and yet strangely frail and melancholly at the same time- genius. the title song will make you cry. maybe. :) - thomas __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Not Godflesh, but if you are into this kind of stuff, John Zorn's Painkiller stuff (with Mick Harris and Bill Laswell) would probably be worth your while. Head on collision of grind, dub and jazz with rad results. -Aaron ----- Original Message ----- From: Jason Cole <Jason.Cole@DigitalMediaWorks.com> Date: Tuesday, April 30, 2002 1:42 pm Subject: RE: [idm] r.i.p. godflesh
