Hey, if anyone could hook me up with serial #'s for super collider, I would appreciate it. I dont have much $$ at the moment and the demo is too limiting. I need to know if I can use it before I blow a wad of cash on it. reply off list or whatever thanks _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Fuck off you twat. You can find out everything you need to know from the demo version. The only limitations are that you can only run patches for 1 minute at a time, that you can't output to an audio file and that each individual session can only last 30 minutes. No other limitations. I don't think you know what you're talking about. You can do everything you need to as far as learning how to use the program and figuring out what it can do from the demo version. I played around with the demo version for at least 1 year before I bought the program. I don't think it's even worth buying the full working version until you've got a good grip on the SC language, which is not an easy thing. You're not gonna learn anything from the full working version which you can't learn from the demo version. The reason I get all militant about purchasing SC is because it's the work of one man, James McCartney, so you're not supporting some evil corporation, and at $250 it's a relatively inexpensive program so I don't wanna hear that shit about blowing "wads" of cash on it. There aren't any limitations on any features of the SuperCollider language with the demo version, which is the important thing for learning.

You buy the damn program then. What is the point of this discussion anyway ?

Personally I don't know anyone who learned the basics of SC in the first couple of days. In fact most people I've come into contact with are still in the dark after a few months.
