carpark week
yes october 11th officially kicks off "carpark week" here in new york
city. there are a ton of carpark and carpark-related events going on
around the city from the 11th to the 18th! cmj begins on the 10th
and yours truly will be taking part in a panel on the 11th entitled
"electronic music in the 21st century." should be fun needless to
say. if you wanna stop by let me know and i should be able to get
you a pass for it.
october 12th is the carpark cmj showcase. here's the lineup:
marumari
miss dinky
so takahashi
timeblind (orthlorng musork)
310 (leaf)
+ myself and mike wolf djing
at sub-tonic, 107norfolk street
then we have the two takagi shows on the 16th at the knitting factory
and the 18th at level x (see above.)
and finally i'm pretty sure that so takahashi will be playing again
at tonic around the 17th for an electroluxe event. he hasn't been
able to confirm for me yet. i know the proceeds are going to help
victims of the world trade center attack.
marumari gentrification
marumari fans should check out the october issue of urb magazine cos
there's a really nice one page marumari feature! thanks to daniel at
urb for writing the article; it's really great. for impatient folk,
we have a scanned version of the article at
<
http://www.carparkrecords.com/maripress.html>www.carparkrecords.com/maripress.html.
for curious AND impatient folk we've discovered that marumari is
heading in a new direction for their new record. as you may or may
not know, marumari became two a couple months ago as sasha ellms
joined the lineup. expect more vocals and maybe a guitar or two from
marumari. there have also been reports of some palm pilot musical
composition.
byebye
that's it for now! thanks for reading.
aw the best,
todd
