I wouldn't recommend QPS, having heard too many horror stories about
their tech support. Their 12x10x32 CDRWs also had bad problems writing
audio CDs in Disc-At-Once mode for a while.
I have an APS (
http://www.apstech.com/) 16x10x40 Firewire drive that I'm
pretty happy with, except for the noisy fan (thankfully I can turn it off
when not needed - love that Firewire hot-swapping!). The drive's
burn-proof feature along with Toast 5 makes background burning pretty
much flawless.
My case has only a Firewire interface, but newer versions have both
Firewire and USB (currently US$329. Damn!). I've heard of various issues
with their newer Firewire/USB bridge (i.e. turning off the drive causes
the computer to freeze), and APS's tech support isn't exactly the best,
either.
And Jam 2.6.2 supports Firewire CDRWs.
