Well all of Zammuto's stuff sends ripples down my spine. : ) There's no way I'm giving up by Zammuto cdr OR his Willscher cd for both are magical releases for those into warm glitchy experimental processed-guitar electronics somewhere in the neighborhood of Microstoria, Dont Dolby, Kohn, Tom Steinle, Cathars, Pluramon, etc. An absolute MUST have experimental release.

Actually Zammuto also has a previously unreleased remix of on of his tracks on the new Tom label For Friends compilation cd. I think this one was officially released last week and also features tracks by Novisad, Rafael Toral, Kohn, Alejandra & Underwood, Jon Sheffield, Harald Ziegler, and Frank Blumm. Also in the near future from Zammuto, watch for a host of compilations appearances on a variety of labels including miau miau, microwave, and autumn to name a few. -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I am amazed at how similar Microstoria and Cathars sound sometimes. They both contain those fluttering Cologne pseudo-melodies and really ambient, exceptionally space-defining moments of amazing beauty. I'm surprised I haven't seen more mention of Cathars' "Amorpheus" CD on this list, as it seems many members would be very into it. (similar to much of what you mentioned) I've never had too much of a stomach for microwave releases. Pita, for example, can be alternately illicit a profound reaction or just give me a headache. When I first got "seven tons for free" I routed it through a lowpass filter to even be able to listen to it without my head exploding a la "scanners". Zammuto has an obviously different take on music, which I believe helps give him his very fresh sound. He once told me something to the effect of, "I'm scared of anything with black and white keys" :) Andrew -- -| Andrew Schrock | aschrock@cs.brandeis.edu |- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Youc can also add his remix of my track 'gremlin' which will be appearing on the 'amalgamation' disc due out on component in July. Its quite intense I must add and quite a bit different from the stuff on the 3CDr and Willscher discs. well i'm 23 i've been listenin to "idm" for quite a while now, living in detroit and growin up with the electrifying mojo and the wizard on the radio helped me out. also a program on canadian radio called "brave new wave" hosted by patti schmidt gave me my first glimpse into the experimental realm, years and years ago. Multiple bootleg mixes of her show were passed around amongst college friends here in detroit. (they still do every once in a while) If you are out there patti, thanks alot and keep doing what you are doing, because it is right. np: kid spatula/spatula freak (i have an extra copy (never opened) if anyone is interested) t-power/waveform --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Anyone else get this new (?) kit clayton 12", its pretty good, kind of dubby, kind of noisey, kind of organic sounding. I like it. I know this is a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a hold of Zammuto's Solutiore of Stareau. I tried emailing them at Apartment B records, but I didn't get a reply. I was also wondering if anyone had any news on what he is up to now, and if anyone could recommend anything that resembles his Willshcer masterpiece. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Zammuto's got some amazing stuff waiting to be released. I recently heard 2 tracks he did for an upcoming compilation on Apartment B (APTB003) and they're unbelievable. Really well done sort of found sounds collages which go all over the place. I've also heard a sort of extended, gamelan flavored piece he created solely out of sounds collected from a shed, which made my jaw drop. I don't know where or when that's coming out. "Willscher" was great, but I think these new tracks show a lot of growth. Nick has a wealth of incredible ideas. Every time I hear one of his new pieces I'm in awe. http://www.apartmentb.com/news/ Andrei --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

yeah "brave new waves" is a great show. Since Windsor was so close to Ann Arbor I used to get great reception. They have this K Records- infatuation kind of thing going, but I do remember hearing an interview with Mike P once which was great. isn't Brave New Waves based in Vancouver BC? And if so, can people in Seattle pick the show up on their radios?

Well, like someone just said, its outta montreal, but broadcast coast to coast on the CBC, innit? AFAIK, if you're near the border, you're probably within CBC reception range. I think.
