A few excellent new releases from the morr music label... ______________________________ . Styrofoam: a short album about murder cd (Morr Music 015) Another solid release of murky indie-electronica from Styrofoam following up their point_misser album from last year. Most tracks on this release incorporate vocals in some way shape or form but always in an non-intrusive manner. More than half of the tracks on this one should stand the test of time but after listening to the superb Bomb The Bass vs Lali Puna ep for the past week, it's hard to recommend anything else. A definite step back to a more accessible sound for Morr Music after the misunderstood Weschel Garland and Tied & Tickled Trio releases. Bottom line, if you liked the previous styrofoam releases or are a fan on the indierock-electronica hybrid sound then check this one out. Release details: . Styrofoam: a short album about murder cd (Morr Music 015) Tracks: - no matter what - snowblind - it's just that we don't show it - bad night is falling - if you tell the truth i will kill you - there is no rest - by anybody else i mean you ______________________________ . Bomb The Bass vs Lali Puna: clear cut cdep (Morr Music 018) I haven't given Bomb The Bass a thought, let along a listen, since his Bug Powder Dust days back in the mid 90s so to see a new release on Morr Music was quite a surprise to me. This one is a collaborative effort with current Morr Music artists Lali Puna and upon first listen to the Clear Cut ep, I was even more suprised because this ep was nothing like BTB's old triphoptechno pop sound. Instead BTB and Lali Puna (with the help of herrmann & kleine, opiate, arovane, and Christian kleine) deliver one of the best poppy melodic electronica eps of this year. The original track features ominous synths and punchy breakbeat offset by lali puna's ethereal vocal stylings and intermittent yet lush melodies. Each of the remixers also add their own signiture touches to their perspective mixes but they only add to the beauty of the track. Imagine Hermann & Kleine or Phonem with vocals and you'll have an idea of the sounds represented here. Has Bomb The Base done anything else like this because if there is more of this out there then I definitely want to hear it. The Clear Cut ep is another Morr Music must have. Highly Recommended!
