Does anyone know if programs similar to Max/MSP exists for PC computers, or if there is any way that Max/MSP can be used on a PC? I had not even heard about Max until all this talk on the list started and now I am totally itching to try it - or something like it. I believe Reaktor is pretty close to MAX/MSP(when it comes to PC at least), a downgrade and slightly less versatile app would be AudioMulch, and then there is PD which is pretty hard to grasp IMO . Some links: PD Free Download - http://www.crca.ucsd.edu/~msp/software.html AudioMulch Free download - http://www.audiomulch.com Reaktor - Demo available - http://www.native-instruments.com/ there may be many more, or maybe I'm totally wrong on the whole situation...but hat ever, hope this helps. peace, Sprek http://spit.to/onesick At 09:08 PM 1/7/2001 -0700, Kalle Eriksson wrote:

PD is a program for Windows that was written by the same guy that wrote Max... Somebody else posted a link to it. You can also check out stuff like Reaktor (www.native-instruments.com), AudioMulch (www.audiomulch.com) or Buzz (www.buzz2.com) (and those are sorted in order of descending goodness). :) -- :: atomly :: atomly@atomly.com | atomly@atdot.org | atomly@curiousnetworks.com http://www.atomly.com | http://www.mp3.com/atomly --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Audiomulch better than buzz? hmm....Audiomulch is like Buzz, only with "machines" to use (as you can write new machines for buzz, but the ones in Audiomulch are set to what comes with it). Only thing that Audio Mulch does better as far as an I can tell is the granulation stuff, but there are better programs for granulation (Crusher-X, Granulab). Try them both I suppose, .....they're both freely downloadable At 11:10 AM 1/8/2001 -0600, you wrote:

Yea... My only real problem with Buzz is that none of the synths really sound that good unless you want to make cheesey clubby trance (AKA demo music). I use Buzz a lot more than I use AudioMulch, however. -- :: atomly :: atomly@atomly.com | atomly@atdot.org | atomly@curiousnetworks.com http://www.atomly.com | http://www.mp3.com/atomly --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

hi kalle - Max and MSP currently only run on the Macintosh, but that's set to change. A Windows port is in the works. bbn - able604.551.5227 3079 w10th vancouver canada v6k 2k7 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Heh. Joshua 'Kit' Clayton was working on it over a year ago when I talked to him.
