While inexplicibly has two recent releases: "Even" and
"Haze". (demonstrating a thirwell-esque penchant for 4-letter titles) The
former is a CD/2xLP which has the same tracks on both, the latter is on CD
and 2 12"ches, with tracks exclusive to both. But don't worry - "Haze" is
cheap enough so that even if you get the CD and 2 12"ches you won't be set
back too much.
Both are the same sort of release you've come to expect from While.. he
gets a little more creative with sampling methods, but for the most part
he doesn't stray too far: same "disconcerting" melodies, (actually a
relief from the happy childlike IDM routine melodic progression) slow,
strange progression, and slow funky beats.
I am just wondering why he's flooding the market all of a sudden.. I enjoy
While but I'm sure I don't need much more if he doesn't start mixing it up
a bit. He's really becoming the Mick Harris of IDM, no?
