Can anyone recommend some good stuff on Emusic? I know there are a
handful of Schematic releases, I'm not sure if it's all of them, but
it's all the ones I know about (including Ischemic Folks and Lily of the
Valley). And there's the entire Fax back catalog (very cool). I'd also
recommend any of the Waveform compilations, mainly down-tempo stuff. I
think the whole Ninja Tune catalog is up as well; definitely worth
checking out if you're into that stuff. Besides Ninja Tune, there's
PLENTY of great underground hip-hop and turntablism stuff, so go nuts.
Uh..let's see...if you're into Detriot techno, the new Sean Deason is
up, Joey Beltram, too. Lot's of dub classics, for any of you wanting to
learn about old dub, now's your chance...Augustus Pablo, Lee Perry, Sly
& Robbie, Mad Professor, King Tubby. A few Merzbow albums are up, if
you're insane [:)]. Automate by an artist called Forma Tadre is an
interesting ambient album; he is apparently an industrial artist who
made an all ambient album. Tear Ceremony has one up as well; it's
nice. An artist I hadn't previously heard called Solea Amphibia has a
really good new electro/idm album up; it's not incredibly original, but
it's one of the best electro albums I've heard. Anyway, just thought
I'd let you know what I've gotten/tell you what's good. Anyone else
care make some recommendatons? By the way, this emusic unlimited deal
is well worth it with or without high speed connection, take advantage.
