[Sorry for the jumbled multi-reply, but I lost the original messages] Treadmill? I can understand making a judgement on an artist's progression after the third album or so, but this is just Alan's second album. Granted, it has been four years since the first full-length, and maybe you've heard outtakes in the interim. Otherwise, while I'll reiterate that "Puttering" will certainly make "Bundle Of Joy" fans happy, "Bundle of Joy 2" this album is not. While not a radical departure, the new album does have differences... and I don't sense any lack of new ideas. But hey, diff'rent strokes/diff'rent folks/rule the world/yes it does And I hope I didn't accidentally tout the new Loops record as some sort of IDM Landmark. Personally, it's my favorite album of the year so far, and nothing more. I only posted it here because I knew there were fans on this list, and also some of Land Of The Loops' stuff has a few though not many qualities shared by what's get discussed here often.... If you're unequivocally against "cute", you probably won't like this record... then again, it may be so cute that even the most bad-ass Eeyore on this list couldn't resist... so I dunno. ======================================================================= Brian MacDonald <brianm@kuci.org> KUCI 88.9 fM in Irvine, CA -- Orange County ======================================================================= --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

what are you, some kind of fag? cute is for pussies. okay. now that i got all that macho-man-ness out of me, does the land of the loops character ever do anything live? i LOVED bundle of joy. i have the poster. i have the record. i have the cd. i adore the cute nature of the land of the loops fellow. speaking of "cute" music.. whats in the future for the sack & blumm? they certainly hit some adorable moments. and marumari (who remind me of the cute era of mouse on mars .. and where is mr kumquat hiding? his song "circle stars" makes me giggle like a goth girl at a cure concert. and while i am at it, soul oddity was some of the BEST cute music around. while i love where phoenecia is going, i sometimes wish (as they briefly did with odd jobs) they would bring back the fun! i asked rom onetime how he felt about little alien -- and he kinda shy'd away from the question and didn't seem too into it.. UNTIL i mentioned that i thought it was the cutest song ever! he admitted it was a cute song. so i'm guessing they're still cute somewhere deep down inside. okay, enough of this cuddly bullshit. fuck you. chris. "are we not brothers under the same god" with the pathetically hilarious wolf picture and then the UFO in the corner, this really beautiful sorority girl had a fit over it. i'd like to thank marumari for that 5 minutes of humor with said woman. lord knows i'll never have a conversation like that with a sorority girl again. oh and that album kicks ass, such a green pasture/ocean breeze experience. -jon --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
