well, i know i'm a bit late on the news, but i just got 'repetition & nonsense' & it's probably the most original minimal techno i've heard all year. beats snd by a long mile (coincidentally, i've just finally bought 'makesnd cassette' also but haven't listened to it yet). now i'm probably going to have to redo my top 10 list all over again! (silly me, forgot to include the still awe-inspiring solutiore of stareau triple pack in it anyway.) anyway, this is an album that bears its name magnificently if i've ever seen one. sometimes it sounds like a good chain reaction record & a mego cd playing at the same time. what a concept! incredible that i've seen it dismissed on this list as 'just some more dubby beats' or some such comment. this is virtually unmissable! are the more recent ~scape releases in the same style? (not that i've ever seen them in local stores or anything...) ~ david --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Agreed, it's a spectacular record.

I think that Kit's 12" and CD on ~scape are even better than the Drop Beat album. They're a little dubbier (which you'd expect from a label run by Pole), but with that same underwater minimal techno vibe. Highly recommended.
