hey everyone, im on the road, picked up this incredible cd, Hrvatski-Oiseaux 96-98 at Other Music in NYC. really nice, interesting, sort of breakbeaty experimental idm. sort of. has anyone posted a review of this yet? lance? i think it just came out. the 1st 20 seconds of the cd alone are worth the money. very complex and well-done. please, does anyone know/have more info on this artist? other releases? what are they like? discog? for hrvatski? for the label this is on? is the other stuff on this label in the same style? please post,rather than referring me to a url i have very spotty web acess. im sure other idmers would dig this release/info also. thanks! j.u. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

Yes, very much so. On Reckank, there's also a Blitter 7" that's got the same sort of sound, and appears to end in a locked groove on both sides.

The stuff that's available is the first compilation LP "Attention: Cats" (with some Hrvatski on it), Blitter's 7", & the new Hrvatski CD. To get these, you can go right to the source: Forced Exposure, 226 Lowell Street, Somerville, MA 02143, fe@shore.net, http://www.fe.org/ or http://www.forcedexposure.com/ The compilation LP & the 7" have been unavailable for a while, but Hrvatski saved some for the release of this new CD, so if you're interested in them, you should get the old releases now because they won't be available anymore after this last batch runs out, I think. So far as more of a discography goes, Hrvatski has had some compilation appearances. I don't know them all, but off the top of my head: Lucky Kitchen's "Blip Bleep: Soundtracks To Imaginary Video Games" CD Diskono's "I'm So Bored With The U.S.A." LP Marc Poirier

Hrvatski also contributes a track to Speedranch^Jansky Noise's *Welcome To Execrate* comp on Leaf. Everything I've heard by the man (Oiseaux, Attention: Cats, comp trax) has been excellent; he's one of the few people doing interesting things with d&b conventions at the moment, though he's probably moved on to new things, as Oiseaux covers his work from 96-98. this track was originally the 'blip bleep' compilation (lucky kitchen). the s^jn version is awesome, but the original track is in its own class. if there was one single reason to buy the 'blip bleep' compilation, it would be to get that track -- it's that good (& i have a soft spot for colongib's 'megablasterfiend' too). i can't wait to get my hands on 'oiseaux'. sometimes i wish i had a credit card, i'd use mailorder like mad (though then again, i probably wouldn't eat). -- david

Oops, I made a mistake. None of the Reckankreuzungsklankewerkzeuge will ever run out of print. I don't know how I misunderstood that; I must have left some pieces behind during my labotomy. Also, in case it wasn't clear in my post, Forced Exposure is a mail-order place, not a store. They also manufactured & distributed the newest Reckankreuzungsklankewerkzeuge release, the Hrvatski CD, so that's why I suggested them. I know S://kimo (skimomusic@home.com) has the RKK stuff, too.
