Word is they are tired of the BS (running a label ect..) got that from one of my major distributors who handle Asphodel. So sad to see one my favorite labels go bye bye. who will put out the new Tipsey DAMN IT?!!! by the way have been listening to that shuttle358 with realplayer and I almost dozed off twice - fweeew it is nice as incidental music but it not one for those looking to stay awake. Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, especially since Asphodel is one of my favorite domestic labels. But unfortunately that rumor is a little too close to the truth...they're not folding due to monetary concerns or anything like that - apparently the owner of the label is a bit tired of dealing with the *industry* side of the music biz and is just looking to move on. Depending on who buys the label and what they do with it, the future of Asphodel isn't exactly certain. But you can prolly expect some changes regardless. I know this b/c the label I work for was looking into doing a deal with Asphodel at one point.
