The one I have on Din is very melancholic, somewhat in the vein of Autechre but not enough to cry "rip-off" (hello, Funkstorung...erm...Boards of Canada...erm....nevermind). I like it.

The first Mr. Hazeltine was in my top ten for the year it came out (1997). It's loopy banging techno, sort of comparable to Jeff Mills' Purpose Maker stuff. I think it's very good, but you might dig it more if you DJ as well as listen from the armchair (no dis to either camp). I bought this on recommendation of the list and found that it wasn't anything all that exciting. Wasn't nearly as dancy straightforward as I'd been led to believe on one of the tracks. The other abstract stuff wasn't inoovative and I couldn't use it in my sets that I could see, so I was a bit frustrated with it. Other opinions would probably be good. NP: sound of a dumb customer

If your talking about the 12 inch then pure sample madness. This is the sons of silence doing music based on cut up samples and sounds. Kind of like a collage. The samples are recognizable (black sabbath, janis joplin etc.); hilarious and essential.

I have a track by them on a recent comp I got that is on hymen (called technoir - will review later this week). If I remember it was kind of harsh and sporadic sounding. I liked it.
