Opinionated I guess. Sorry I am not a mindless IDM drone :) Just out of curiousity what were some of the outstanding Rephlex releases of '98. And I mean "new" not reissues.

It's good, but not worth the hype of many of the emails I have read. I don't think they stand up to alot of his other work. But they are worth the $10 I spent on them.

Your absolutely right if I didn't have any expectations I could go to regular mainstream bars where there are tons of women and bad music and i might not care. Unfortunately, I have to set my expectations high and only go to drum n bass/idm events and hang out with 95% guys. If I had no expectations or opinions I could go to anything and maybe enjoy it (know matter how weak it is), instead of just certain type of events. You know what they say ignorance is bliss.

And continues to becomes less influential in MY tastes. Why do you even care? It's really silly. I don't care if you love him or hate him, it makes no difference to me. I secure in my tastes to not care what anyone else thinks. Some people will agree and some won't. cheers

That was '98? Put that on my list as well, then. Although the Japanese full length version was loads better. Greg

i actually really like the new cylob.. its funny, but its a really silly funny that just might last a few more years than a lot of that sort of stuff... oh, and its good :) so, whens the rdj blow up doll come out? im sure a lot of folks could gain a lot from that.. and in the privacy of their own home.. off the idm list :) chris. music, four lunchpails: wednesdays 7-8pm kuci 88.9fm www.kuci.org "chicks dig laptops"

I heard a couple of tracks from that Mike Dred/Peter Green disc spun by one of the DJs at the Suction show, and they were fucking excellent. Was the last Global Goon in '98? It's pretty nice as well. Other than that, I can't think of anything else. I've heard claims that the Leila album is good, but I hated the first single so much that U'm afraid to even try it. Greg

Which one came out as a single? Don't Fall Asleep came out first but I don't know if it got official release since I have the white label, then 2. Space Love, then 3. Feeling, next, 4. Won't You Be My Baby, Baby The last being a very upbeat number, which is really nice. I originally really hyped up this album, there's a few "patchy" moments but on the whole it was worth my $17. Oh yeah, get the vinyl just to get the 7", it's got a really nice song on it. Rusty

There were two singles I think.. The whole album is pretty good IMO - the track with the ticky clocks springs to mind. I wish my copy wasn't 100 miles away!
