ummm... well I recently recieved some pre-release material from this label. without going into detail, cuz it's like 3am and I should be in bed, you will all be hearing a lot from this label in the near future. EXCELLENT high quality IDM the way it was supposed to be:) Be on the lookout for a upcomming comp entitled Cataract Beats, I'd believe this to be a good way to start. gilly -- "E stands for electro"- Atom Heart. :::unity in diversity:::

I agree with gilly, Pitchcadet is an excellent label that will definitely be more discussion on this list in the near future. The releases range from smooth melodic electronica to intelligent breakbeats to lush ambient to spacious d&b. I just bought all their releases direct from the label website at http://www.pitchcadet.com The releases i recently bought and highly recommend: . Valence: ohm cd (Pitchcadet/pc 01/11) . Braille Mdxx: are you a tantrum? cd (Pitchcadet/pc 02/12) . M-Tec: data-life cd (Pitchcadet/pc 03/1) . Accelera Deck: conviction and crack cd (Pitchcadet/pc 04/2) . Yunx: s/t cdep (Pitchcadet/pc 05/1.1) . M-Tec: Slip Wish cdep (Pitchcadet/cadet 05/1.3) . Tracked down another Pitchcadet release, M-Tec's "Data-Life".. like everything else ive heard from Pitchcadet, grab it on sight. Very melodic and moody, similar in atmosphere to the Yunx -Cadet release.. but a little bit more somber feeling. Can possibly be likened to the Boards and older Aphex here and there.. it has that calming melancholy feel that i love so much about those artists. Hopefully these arent too hard to get ahold of, if you are in the Berkeley area.. check Amoeba's. ttfn. jsin djdesire 4of4 email:: jperez@usc.edu web:: inconstruct aim: DjDesire :`'''```''''```'''`''`''`'`'``''``` Int'l Recluse Extraordinare Serving the San Francisco Bay Area Since 1980 iMmeRse YoUr sOuL iN lOve

I've still seen no mention of the Braille Mdxx release, "Are You a Tantrum?" on Pitchcadet (except for one from me a while back). I'm almost positive it's a Chris Jeely (aka Accelera Deck) project. Did this get a proper release? I got it along with a bunch of other promos from them. It's very good. It's kind of in the style of hangable auto bulbish Aphex, but not quite the same. Very melodic. It's actually worth picking up for one track called "Conviction," which is probably my favorite track out of the whole Pitchcadet catalog so far. Simple but very "pretty" melodies with some fucking wicked drum programming. Anyone else heard this? I hope they released it. Also, how is the Aemic 10"? I recall someone giving a few words on this but I don't remember what. Jeff

I'm not too sure about M-Tec's "sounds", but Novel23's upcoming 'Melodies of Childhood for Advanced Imagination' includes some of the finest digitally- mind bending melodies i've heard in a long time. Combine that with an assortment of crispy beats, and this full-length is a thriving musical entity that i'm sure will satisfy your idm cravings. I'm having a hard time pulling this one out of the player! Oh.. and whoever pointed out the fact that idm seems to be lacking the basslines, you're right on target with that analysis. [i'm still catching up on digests] Pietro. ___________________________________________ p i e t r o d a s a c c o a u d i o - n i m b u s 9745 lynngrove cr, windsor, ontario, n8r 1b8, canada http://www.rain.org/~audio/grooves/ grooves experimental electronics music mag --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
