i think maybe they did that to compensate for the rather...unilluminating graphic design on the new squarepusher. haven't seen the ae yet. but no! we don't like huge stickers all over everything! in fact, most of us can't stand it. argh.

i would have just left it on, except that sticker was partially on the case and partially on the sealing-sticker on the top that has the title on it. so in order to open the thing, i had to tear the sticker in half, and the other half wont' come off nicely. oh well, time to throw out the case and toss it in a new one. oh, hey, finally saw the squarepusher "come on my selector" video...awesome. truly great video. too bad it was on M2 (where mtv, in their wisdom, have banished actual MUSIC VIDEOS) at 2 a.m. letterboxed, subtitles, a creepy plot, everything---it's a like a freaky Japanese horror movie. sooo good. i'll probably never see it again. (and no, quicktime just isn't the same.) -rob, who just realized he would go pay decent money to see some little independent theater screen a bunch of good videos-- ae's second bad vilbel, AFX's come to daddy, squarepusher...

You may want to take a trip to Spain for the next SONAR, which even though it seems to have turned into a media/hipster circus, still offers some quality stuff. When I was there they screened videos by Ken Ishii, Jeff Mills, Autechre, Locust, Aphex as well as Sahko: The Movie and some stuff by the guy in Deep Space Network (not Moufang, the other one..) all in a big theater with nice sound. Along with the Designers Republic exposition there was plenty to do without even going near a DJ or live act. When I realized that the regional government helped to pay for my opportunity to see Autechre, I briefly considered a trip to the immigration office for some papers. Even though the concert was less than spectacular, I still think about it every once in a while. Jonathan
