Sorry if some of you feel this lacks IDM content... Someone recently posted about the Art Exhibition in the UK with tracks by Thurston Moore remixed by various others. There's supposed to be a CD (I've even heard a CD-ROM) for this on Jon Tye's Lo Recordings. Is this going to be available to purchase or only available at the exhibition?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Mike

its going to be generally available, and in 3 different forms (2 are ltd). s://kimo and bent crayon were both doing pre-releases a couple of weeks back. this is snipped from one of those lists, thought i'd quote it fully as i'm not sure i'm currently up to a summary that would do it justice. sorry for the length, but there is quite a bit of idm (looking) content on there. -martin THURSTON MOORE-ROOT CD/LTD ED CD/6XLP

due soon. Thurston's been sending out dats of guitar music left and right to 'electronic' producers - Boymerang told me he got one. CT Limited edition CD will be packaged in a 'vacuum cleaner bag'. Limited Edition Box Set includes six 12" discs plus booklet and maybe a limited edition Savage Pencil print; it will also feature some tracks that are not on the CD (ie: Scanner, DJ Speedranch, Russell Mills, plus..) & maybe some of the original Thurston Moore pieces. In October of 1997 independent music label Lo Recordings received a DAT tape containing 30 different one-minute guitar pieces by New York arthouse guitarist Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth. Each piece was copied onto individual one-minute tapes and then packaged in a custom designed vacuum cleaner bag.In order to fully exploit the potential for musical/visual cross-fertilization Lo Recordings teamed up with leading contemporary art venture Commercial Too. One hundred bags were sent out to a selection of the most creative visual artists and musicians, inviting them to create a brand new work utilising the original piece as a starting point. The original idea was to produce a CD compilation of music together with an exhibition of visual work. However, so overwhelming was the response that the project has expanded to include a web-site, various off-shoot events and a second CD with accompanying CD-Rom to be released in the new year. track listing: 1. DEREK BAILEY 2. ALEC EMPIRE 3. MOGWAI 4. LUKE VIBERT 5. DONALD CHRISTIE & THE UNDERDOG 6. BLUR 7. MARK WEBBER (PULP) 8. STEREOLAB 9. CHEAP GLUE (REPUBLICA) 10. ADD N TO X 11. SPRINGHEEL JACK 12.
