Just wanted to quickly point out the slightly
different angle Kid606 has taken his the upcoming
release on Carpark called The Soccergirl EP.
On this 18 minute excursion, Kid606 uses
microsounds looped next to ultra-thin beats
that are hard to locate but definitely there if
you listen carefully. All those digital quirks
that your probably used to by now are not
as apparent on this EP. This 3" soccer-disc,
in the Sports Theme for Carpark EP's, relies
on deeply routed bass-beats, fine tuned chords,
and casual melodies unlike anything i've heard
from Michael. If he continues to pursue this side
of the (ambient) musical platter, then i'll be glad
to pursue more of Kid606's output, but in the
meantime, i guess you'll have to get used to the
wacky electronics coming from his own label,
Tigerbeat6 located at www.tigerbeat6.com. The
Soccergirl EP floats by just as quickly as it ends,
unfortunately.. it'd be nice to hear these sounds
panned out on a full-length. Out on May 2nd, just
like the Marumari full-length disc, "The Wolves Hollow".
