Ahhh this is a bit of a daft one, but at least it's a change from checking how Autechre pronounce their name... :) Which way do people pronounce the record label Thule (I'm sure there'll be people out there familiar with at least the compilation 'Fishcake'): starts with a "th" like in "thing" and rhymes with "mule" or starts with a "t" like in "tree" and rhymes with "Julie"? At any rate, there was a belief that there was an undiscovered warm land at the North Pole, and lots of European explorers went pushing through the pack ice to try to find it, and they called what they were looking for 'Thule', pronounced TU-li. I think that fits nicely with the label's sound. I've also heard that when Vykings on this quest reached Iceland, they called it by the same name. There's your trivia for the day. It's pronounced "Maurizio" ;) Just kidding...I just picked up one of the Thule 12"s actually, and while it is in a very Maurizio/BC style, it's excellent. Bill / dj marathon

Checking an Icelandic pronunciation guide, it looks like Chris lucked out, in that the pronunciation looks like it's close enough. Please excuse the diversion! I've always thought it was like "Tool." Horribly ignorant, john
