I really love Microstoria, which is 1/2 oval, 1/2 mouse on mars. I've got init ding and recently _snd. Are Oval and Microstoria very similar? I recently read an interview with Markus Popp where he said that Oval is really a concept based project in which he is trying to explore the digital medium, where as in Microstoria its more of a free form looser feeling way of working. But I really enjoy Microstoria. Are there other non-synth pad ambient artists working in this direction. I find it quite refershing <zesty>. I wouldn't really associate it with electroacoustic music becasue there is an underlying melodic theme to many of the tracks, but its very nicely textured and interesting. Sort of like listening to machines dreaming.

Microstoria's a lot more Oval than MoM, so I think it'd be worth your while checking them out. The scratched CD thing is, IMO, hugely over emphasised. I just think of it as skittery, although I guess there are tracks that sound genuinely like the CD is skipping in a fairly regular way. Following on what Popp said, Microstoria does have a bit of a crazier feel. | I wouldn't really associate it with electroacoustic music becasue there | is an underlying melodic theme to many of the tracks, but its very | nicely textured and interesting. Gibbering circuits, sometimes pretty hard to take IME, and other times really peaceful. Michael "You know what?
