Try to score a copy of Push Button Objects "Lockligger" 12" on Schematic (SCH 003). Your above description fits it exactly, someone on this list said it sounded like "Autechre doing hip-hop" and I couldn't agree more. This one's harder to find since it's not pressed anymore, try this email add. for Schematic possibly: schema@gate.net - good luck, you'll dig it. Thanx to all for the Carl Craig help, gonna order the BFC and 69 if I can find 'em on wax and not just CD...Brock

FYI... The Psyche/BFC album is available on 2x12" but minus three or four of the tracks on the cd. But the 69: Sound of Music CD is not avail on vinyl. Instead you'll have to track down three separate 69 12"s - Lite Music, Sound on Sound, and Four Jazz Funk Classics to get the same tracks. Unfortunately all the 69 12"s are somewhat difficult to come by. -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

how does 69:sound Of music compare to the Psyche/BFC comp? i absolutely love Psyche/BFC comp album and think its actually better than his newer ones (which have some great tracks, but also not some great tracks)- i heard, that 69 was carl's more housey output right? anyway, to whoever was asking about the Psyche/BFC: go get it! its some of the smoothest most soulful/beautiful detroit techno i ever heard, and most of the stuff on it was recorded between 89-91! i think when aphex was recording his SAW1 he was trying to sound like carl craig on these tracks... peace. :spacecake:

not really, tracks as Paperclip People are more into that category. most of the 69 cannot really be categorized, only as craig songs, and perfectly fit in the moods of bfc/psyche. my machines, desire, ladies & gentlemen easily get on top of my all time favourite tunes. and the whole filter king, no highs & finale tunes are too fine indeed

i remember an interview in a dutch mag with richard in which he called carl' stuff nothing more than breakbeats with some strings above. _______________________________________________ forcefield | mindless entertainment http://wwwedu.cs.utwente.nl/~wielen/forcefield

lite music is the easiest to find, four jazz funk classics the hardest (if anyone has this to offer let me know!), and there is also an absolutely storming remix ep of the track 'jam the box' - the medium mix being a guaranteed floor-burner.

kind of. stylistically 69 is somewhere between psyche and paperclip people, and sound on sound is a lot more club based than certain tracks on lite music.. i would recommend tracking down lite music as that's a lot easier to get into. carl craig's ep output tends to be a lot better than his lp stuff - there are a fair amount of track on his lps that positively shout 'FILLER!' whereas he barely ever sets a foot wrong on his eps <waves>
