Modernist approvers should check out the "Mrs. New Deal" 12" too, it's super fly. /Johan --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yep.... it was really really fucking awesome the first time I heard it. Then I listened to it again and it was great.... then the third time it was good... and now it's good, but lost a little of its appeal. Seems like most of the stuff from the Cologne camp is this way - chain reaction, mike ink, etc. etc. The production is always amazing, but there aren't enough ideas to make it durable past the first 10 or so listens.... Aaron >> This is absolutely an on target post. Seems to describe virtually everything out of Cologne and Berlin, for me at least. It's very similar to the reaction I have to house, some trance, whatever. In the middle of a set lots of this stuff sounds great once, but a couple of listens and it deflates, big time. Precisely why we need DJ's out there, I guess. I think Mixmaster Morris described FAX releases in a similar way as FAX crack: sounds great at the store, but when you get home it doesn't sound quite so great.
