I'd check out: - Electrophunk Two (Adrenaline/ADR-0024-2) - Usually Adrenaline puts out mediocre fare with the inevitable combination of "Hop", "Acid", or "Phunk" in the title (mix and match however you like). But this comp's refreshingly good; a few tracks are filler and too ravey-ravey for my taste but overall it's a good retrospective on the revitalization of electro w/in the rave scene. Tracks by Soul Oddity, Uberzone, Eon, and some others off the Electron Industries label. The best tracks on this disc had me body-popping across my living room like "Planet Rock" would. - From Beyond CD Comp. (Interdimensional Transmissions) - If you missed the 12"s, pick up the CD w/ all four volumes on it. More subtle than the above, nu-skool electro at its best. - Jeswa "Skone" 12" (Schematic) or Phoenecia "Randa Roomet" 2x12" (Warp) - Alter egos of the two Soul Oddity folks, reviews in the IDM archives. - Adam Freeland/Rennie Pilgrem/Dave Tipper projects - Labels like Fuel and Coast. I haven't heard much of this myself but apparently these three are merging breakbeats, techno, electro, and d'n'b quite nicely. - Anything on Electron Industries - More of a darker, techno take on electro. The new Octagon Man 12" (Vidd) is ace, along with the rest of the back catalog. BTW, if anyone has a copy of the Eon "Phase Test" 12" (on Electron) that they want to part with, please mail me. I've been looking for this for ages... - Drexciya "The Quest" 2x12" - Get the vinyl version, I bought it AND the CD version and the wax has all the best tracks anyway. Which means I have a copy of "The Quest" 2xCD if anyone wants to TRADE/buy. Mail me.

You're not alone; nothing perked my ears either except the Tupilaq trax.

Has anyone else gotten the chance to listen to Adam Freeland Presents "Coastal Breaks"? Is there a second planned or in the works? khannan suntharam kxs28972@bayou.uh.edu
