I have had much fun and frolics over the years 'dancing on' some of my less worthy IDM purchases. CDs are the most fun, they make a lovely crunching noise, which differs depending on the surface you crush them on (lino is more satisfying and it's easier to sweep up the shards) and the footwear used (stilettos/high heels are good). Vinyl is less fun to destroy in this way and doing so, of course, is highly sacreligious. Crushing CDs on the other hand brings a feeling of freedom in pushing back the forces of consumerism and marks a pronouncement of rage against the digital age.
