scanning away and figured i'd share some thoughts on some new stuffs i got in today... push button objects - great, but not quite as good as the jewsa... that left me, um, dying for more... much more laid back than the other 3 releases for schematics influx (resonance records... title ? not in front of me) was dying to hear influx for a while now and was happy i picked this up... much more beat oriented than i expected but overall very good (sorry, i suck at reviewing) anyone know where i can pick up more??? in particular the isophlux influx (this is out, correct?) friend/dr kosmos - holy shite! love dot stuff, love friends 1st 12", but that metamatics remix of i love you (huh) is *amazing* a decent, yet not particularly great song (though lots of fun) twisted into a very intense piece of music... if you are thinking about picking this up, its worth it for this remix alone!!! global goon afterlife - wow! loved goon but this is so very much better! still fun, but this is much more serious music... only a quick listen as i couldn't wait to slap on.... it era vulgaris... cue up black dog mix that was so highly talked about! having a very hard time believing this is mr downie... not that i doubt for one second that he couldn't produce a remix of this quality, but this is a complete departure from anything i've heard black dog wise... never really thought that anything black dog (past or present) has had an actual "idm" sound... much more offbeat dance / worldly sound, but this sounds like it might be on a schematics or any other "idm" label... and its *GOOD*... i can only hope that 1/2 the material on the rest of this is 1/2 this good! if you haven't picked this up yet, highly recommend contacting modernmusic asap as everyone else who's mentioned it has previously advised (and so wisely!) and i still have 4 more new stuffs to break out ! sorry for the outburst of excitement, been a long time since i've got so much good music @ once (still recovering from receiving vvmt1 & 4 a couple days back) Chris brap@sonic.net http://www.sonic.net/~brap/ blackdog, vvm, whitezone-l, slipdisc C.Gosselin, PO Box 8264, Santa Rosa, CA 95407

I'd be hard pushed to call that remix good, let alone amazing...it sounds like a looped bar of music that never changes to me, i dunno maybe i need to listen to it again (only heard it once so far, perhaps it's more subtle than that) -- Ben Coffer Hybrid Productions http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/

What did you mean by laid back ? 'Coolin' out laid back relaxin' . . .' I think PBO is the most underrated record of the 1997. IMHO, 'Trot' by PBO and 'Throbbing Pouch' (from Rissalecki EP or from Throbbing Pouch album) by Wagon Christ are most underrated tracks. They are certanly my TOP 10 tracks ever... but that's just my opinion, bye rob

I actually prefer the 1st Global Goon EP - more melodic and silly. This new one is OK, especially "Woo", but it's not quite as interesting IMO. Hope the full-length is more like the first one. GD
