The strange thing is that I noticed this very same thing except about a different sample. Anyone who owns both Crime's (AKA Crispin J. Glover) "Don't Fake It" 12" on Nuphonic and the Plug LP will find that the sample on the B-Side "Breaking Point" is the same as that on "I Freak Techniques", but...the Plug LP came out before said 12". Of course, it could be a old sample that they both used, but on the Crime record it seems to change and doesn't just sound like a continuous loop. Anyway for those who want to spot along with me, the vital info is that a)The Plug LP the sample appears about a third of the way into the track (no track times - this is the vinyl we're talking about here and I'm not getting the spotter stopwatch out!) b)It doesn't stay for long c)The cunning, yet nasty and evil Mr Vibert has speeded it up so that it will loop at d&b tempo - but even that can't disguide his dirty stealing tactics. Spooky indeed... Gb. PS Haven't heard the Spooky track in question, but just out of interest, what Plug track does this bassline appear in and (approx) where. I'm sure there's much sample spotting to be done on this LP as it sounds stuffed to the gills...

Well, it's either in "Versatile" or "Tuf Rinse", about 1 minute into the track. Let me explain ... My first question, before I asked the one about the Spooky/Plug bassline, was about a confusion between tracklistings on the Blue Planet & Nothing 2CDs. I don't have the 12"s with me, and so I can't answer my own question ... Track #3 on CD#2 of the Blue Angel 2CD (listed as "Versatile") is the same as track #10 on CD#2 of the Nothing 2CD (listed as "Tuf Rinse"). Track #4 on CD#2 of the Blue Angel 2CD (listed as "Tuf Rinse") is the same as track #11 on CD#2 of the Nothing 2CD (listed as "Versatile"). So, my question was, which track is which? Which is the correct "Versatile", and which is the correct "Tuf Rinse"? Maybe someone can clear this up, maybe not ... -Patrick np: Controlled Bleeding - "Knees & Bones"
