re: the live thing...
It seems to me that of the live sets people have been reviewing as of
late, RDJ's has been generally positive... which is interesting in light
of the fact that he's sitting/laying down! People seem to like 2 things:
the bears, and the fact that RDJ effectively remixes familiar tracks,
playing on what people expect and know, plus throws in some
new/unrecognizeable ones. Maybe this is how to make live electronic
music exciting?
re: earplugs....
yeah, wear 'em! I got a pair called 'earWear' or something like that,
from Musician's Friend (www.musiciansfriend.com) to use when I was in a
band. they were about $15, and they were actually sound *filters*...they
supposedly had a flat frequency response, unlike normal 'plugs, which tend
to muffle everything. You can pretty much have a normal conversation when
you're wearing them, but they save you from loud stuff. plus, they stick
out funny and make you look like a martian. :)
re: cyberfest 3 in sf...
apparently RDJ isn't performing at Big Top tonight in SF...but he is at
cyberfest 3 on the 27th...are any IDM'ers going to this? Wanna hook up?
