For those that don't know there are ra samples of the new plaid single on the warp site. http://www.warp-net.com/warp/ography/single/WAP95/ A brief review would be appropriate. First of all I am a big fan of plaid and of black dog. I don't see any reason to compare the two. As a buddhist would say, they just are. Up to now, I have been pretty convinced that plaid is alot better when they work with someone. Their remixes and collaboration work <repeat, south of market ep> definitely outshine their work as plaid alone. now for the review <granted these are based on low quality short samples> undoneson: reminiscent of their work on "mind over rhythm meets the men from plaid on the planet love." A little bit better than what is on there. A little bit more of growth. But it is still sterile and well, it is nothing new. Interestingly enough the best tracks on "mind.." are the ones by mor and the MOR/plaid aliance. spudink: Same goes for this track. Again sounds like outakes from "mind.." Nothing new. Better sounds perhaps. Other than that do not pass go. headspin a little funky. Something they could put out on clear. The ambient bit in the beginning is kinda nice. Definitely a litte fresher than the other two tracks. But it is missing something. It is like they followed a formula. The android ep definitely utilizes jungle influences to a greater extent and with more originality. Question is will i buy it? yes. It isn't bad, it just isn't a great effort. Blows away that afx/prodigy song. Plus once i get to hear all of it in high quality sound I may change my mind. Hard to tell with 28.8 RA samples. Beyond that I don't get it. Their track on freezone 4 <or whatever that comp is called> was pretty good. oh well, I hear the album is much better. n.p. not a damn thing.

yeah, exactly, crap samples, what's the point? erm, i've got the cd single and it is very short, very lovely, track 2 is the best, and people should stop slagging plaid off because this sounds just like the black dog (when it WAS for threes) cheerio! np - houdini - jega \/\/\/\/\/+++++''''|||| REST YOUR EARS, HAVE NO FEARS, DRINK SOME BEERS, SHED SOME TEARS salford sounds, the phriendly fonographic phun-loving label for the noughties..
