Hello IDMers, LasyFish "Vortex" (ART007CD) was released week ago. Here is a press-release: ==================================================================== Prelude: It was in 1998 when I was in a car with my friends going from a club through limelight Moscow. We were laughing and giggling about cheesy DJs and chicky promoters all around these clubs, when my attention was caught by the music from the tape played in the car. It were very analogue sounding distorted pulsations changing the colours and directions of the beats in mysterious ways. "What is it playing?" I wondered. "Oh, this is a friend of my friend who makes music for himself. He lives in Moscow and he calls himself Lazyfish". This answer was the most unexpected for me. We were listening to the music as Lazyfish was showing us his sonic tricks one after another. I asked my friend whether he knew what equipment Lazyfish used. "He uses some kind of program on his computer which allows you to build your synthesisers like lego". This was even more of a surprise cause I thought I was the only one in Moscow at that time to use such things. No doubt, Lazyfish was a new rising star of russian electronica and we had to release him on ArT-TeK. ...roman belavkin (solar x) ArT-TeK Records is proud to announce the first ever full-length release of new and no doubt one of the most interesting electronic artists of Moscow - the Lazyfish. His name originates from a small pirate company he ran with his friends to produce skateboards. In addition to skateboarding Sasha is a great fan of riding his mountain bike down the hill to get some doze of adrenalin plus many wounds and bruises. During the winter he makes a lot of efforts to kill himself on a snowboard. No wonder he used to listen to a lot of industrial music and played on a bass guitar. Among his influences at that time he names PSYCHIC TV, CURRENT-93, COIL, SCORN. He started composing music with his guitar sometime in 1997 and soon he bought a drum machine Yamaha ry-20, of which he still is a great fan. Soon after purchasing a computer he recorded his first tracks on tapes to give out to his mates. These tapes quickly spread around Moscow and the buzz about Lazyfish began to grow. His talent to dig and explore the possibilities of the software quickly brought him to the forefront of electronic music technology and now he sells his own tools to music software companies. Most of the music he makes now is produced with his own virtual equipment. This album contains 16 tracks mixed together to lead a listener through mathematical mazes of sonic pulsations of industrial landscapes and nightclubs of Moscow. "Vortex" merely develops and changes showing the variety of its colours, so that you will admire to it its diversity. We love this album and glad to be able to share it with you now. ================================================================= Thanks, Roman --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
