For those of you IDM'ers who like artists whose tyle crosses all the subtexts of today's electronica, I highly suggest getting this WE- asIS on Asphodel (asphodel is so wonderful to us). This release has been mentioned plenty on the list, but I just bought it and I have to say my two cents. This is one of them records that can't really be categorized b/c track after track you get a different style. It's a little bit like Slam's Headstates (though I wouldn't say SLAM sounds anything like WE). On the Heastates album you get house, trip hop, jungle, straight 4ontheFloor. This WE is similar. 1st track straight up jungle, next track a little bit different, ...., 5 track ambient, 6 track hip hop, 7 dubby bassline breakbeat, 9 minimal piano wierdness, etc. It's really growing on me, I love artists who can deliver the goods all in one package. If you feel this way, get the WE- as is in many ways I often tell myself that Fila Brazillia _could_ often by 'uncategorizeable'as well, but much of their stuff does have a down tempo feel. However it's just sooooooooo friggin' good FB seem to be in a class all thier own. So good I had to get rid of all my Quango comps cuz I need all the FB full lengths, not just select tracks!!! If anyone has any of the 4? FB's full lengths they'd like to sell used you know what to do..... 0 np: disque 9- des incurables (probably the strangest fucking I have ever heard)
