i also would love to see more this listy performances
in the states, but we have two problems. one is our
nation's size and population distribution. the other:
the performers must make enough to cover the costs
of coming over.
choice one: they charge the prices and play the venues
which will allow them to break even or profit from their
career. this may mean high prices or skipping certain
cities.
choice two: the marketing department hypes them to
encourage album purchases and show attendance.
people who listen to the radio are allowed to hear the
'forbidden fruit'.
choice three: the performer grabs some vinyl and hops
a cheap flight to spin at a local event in sometown, usa.
fans read the name on the flyer and are disappointed
that it "wasn't live" per se.
(i'll read complaints about all of these on this list, i'm sure).
