I wager that not much will change. People who can afford CDs/Vinyl and who appreciate an artist will pay-up regardless. For most people tapes are more than good enough quality-wise and I think if there was ever going to be a mass-piracy problem the music industry would have been in crisis years ago (maybe it was?). I think the better sound quality of recordable CDs won't make any difference here. It'll just become popular because everyone already has a CD player and it's a nice random access format. -- ____ ______ ____\ Q-Force mailto:qforce@graviton.levels.unisa.edu.au \_____ _____\ Visit http://graviton.levels.unisa.edu.au/~qforce/ \____

actually there is (or at least was) a mass piracy problem in the music industry here in the US. at least a few music stores got busted by the cops here for selling pirated cd's/tapes etc. but that is totally different from just copying stuff for personal use. -- __ __\ \ Aurafix aka Hillie / PHD ^ DAMONES / /_\ \ http://www.clark.net/pub/buh/index.html \_____/ >> buh@clark.net >> < > .. >> .<>> >> > , m7= Do re mi fa so la ti .. I like using RCD's only for out of print material, personally. I would much rather have the original. The cheapest blanks right know are about US$5 and have a 10 year shelf life. I can't stand the thought of having a CD go bad or something ten years down the road. Travis L. Combel ravis1@concentric.net Desk: (504) 371-3065 Fax: (504) 371-3160 e-mailing from work ----------

im assuming u were listening to the album at that time, not a remix, single or other obscure artifact that would force me to embark on a wild search....right? thanks, tom w On Sun, 23 Mar 1997 02:11:30 -0800 "sm@4th World" <4thworld@dial.pipex.com> writes:
