shout out for info - alec empire. once heard a cut from 'generation star wars' on NYC radio, pretty seductive stuff. Before I take the purchasing plunge, however, could someone out there post a general summation / description of Mr. Empire's works, inc. 'gen. star wars'? trusting your judgement Sr --- -lacanian Sd NP: Eno & Co.'s 'Music for Films 3' PS: any flames of dissent re posted responses on empire's work should be directed to me, the solicitor of those opinions. Generation Star Wars is loud distorted joyrex-like fun. Low on Ice is lo fi ambient stuff. I like those two. If you could press feces into a flat disk and play it in a CD player that would be "Les Etoiles Des Filles Mortes" --------------------------------------------------------------------- "i love the smell of new carpet. it makes me dizzy. just like when you fall in love." -- Mike Dvorkin Home Page, featuring Reagan on Black Velvet, the EMP Compilation CD, samples of my music, etc http://soli.inav.net/~kent/ Kent Williams kent@inav.net CADSI 2651 Crosspark Road Coralville IA 52241 (319) 338 6053 (home) (319) 626 6700 x 219 (work) (319) 626 3489 (fax)

One of my favorite Alec releases. Its noisy and harsh and freaky and very analog for the most part. It was mentioned a while ago here that there isn't anything else by him like that, but we realized that he did some stuff for Analog records (Freddie Fresh's St. Paul, Minnesota label) at the same time period, probably from the same sessions. Freddie still has copies too. There was a double pack with half boring mid west style 909 straight acid and half really freaky Gen Star Wars type material. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chris Sattinger new records coming on : Headspace (UK, feb) , Synewave(feb), Subvoice(Japan, feb), Sativae(?)
