I heard they had a follow-up album ready to go (everything including the cover art was done). don't know if it was the label or the band that didn't want to put it out. also recall that that Dot wanted her education to come before the band. I do have to admit that Stephen Hague did ruin the album. I don't know if Weatherall made the album _too_ out there though. Try to give the un-weatheralled versions a listen--doesn't sound much different than what Weatherall did (production wise). PS. bass guitar by Jah Wobble on "there goes the cure" Anyone care to sell me a copy of those "Transient Truth - Weatherall Mixes" ? :) robert feugate rfeugate@hawaii.edu

actually i believe they got through recording an entire second album with mike kandel (tranquility bass, exist dance records) that noone in their camp liked least of all the execs and the in subsequent aftermath they split... speaking of mike kandel, i've heard rumors his album is coming out very soon and that it's got da funk... mb <mB.twenty-first century soul. <mikebee@freenet.tlh.fl.us.

Erm, reality is the best drug, or something like that ;)

I think it's a brilliant album, though, as you say, patchy; really eerie at times, like Joe Meek meets King Tubby downtown, but gives the irritating pretenders like St. Etienne (I know, I know, someone's going to take their flamethrowers out for this) a run for their money with what comes to combining great pop melodies with a top-notch production like only Messieur Weatherall can manage it :)

Everyone says this but if you look carefully at the credits hauge only polished up 2-3 of the tracks and they appear at the end of the disc. I just think everyone's got this out of whack.I don't know maybe *I'm* missing something. I think of it as a Weatherall produced LP. I think it is a 'classic'. I heard london dropped them and they're new lp was due last summer, any word on when it will be out? Lead dove guy (can't think of him name at the moment) remixed a track by indie pop sensations The Pastels. Last I heard he's producing their next single too. Jeff

I'm combing thru old brtish rags and in Select from August *1995*, It said the lp was almost completed THEN. It includes a cover of 'Kites', Simon Duprees psychedelic hit from 1967. Can't wait! My soul's an oasis, higher than the sun-Primal Scream's Higher than the Sun
