For fans of the Rephlex band, there's a new Japan-only EP, "Take This Ride" I
think it's called. It's basically the first two Rephlex EPs, plus a bonus
track. Has a purple 3D flying thing on the cover, plus a picture of the
foursome on the obi.
Also heard the new DJ Krush "Mi Light" from Sony Japan. I really wish he'd
drop the rapping. The only track that got my attention was #5, no rap, just
quiet, soft beats and slinky melodies. If "Kemuri" was dark and
claustrophobic, this one showed off a sweeter side to Krush's music. Other
than that, more rapping all around a la "Meiso", except now there are
interludes between tracks where the rappers go on and on about life in the
ghetto or about DJ Krush in the house. *yawn*
