It's been a fun year...
- Squarepusher gets a worshipping website based on, oh, two or three singles
and an album barely out at the time (or was it?). I had to laugh. It's like
when Flowered Up were on the covers of every weekly in the UK based on, oh,
two or three live concerts. Hmmmm, I think I'll go work on a Boards of Canada
website; watch for hourly update reports. Flame retardant: I like "Feed
me...". Why, I'm listening to it now.
- Endless questions/debates over artists using aliases and disguises, that
make up maybe 30% of all IDM emails. I think it's high time for an updated
FAQ, listing who's who, who isn't who, and who we have no clue.
- What's up with all these limited releases? Special verdict on Warp: guilty.
One of their recent upcoming-releases listing had as many limited releases as
regular releases. Now there's a way of making sure more fans and newbies get
to hear this stuff cheap, eh?
- Incestuous remixes - interesting phenomenon. I eagerly await the Gescom
remixes of the Autechre remixes of Gescom's "Keynell". From Warp. Limited to
12 copies.
- Sincere kudos to 4thworld, Modern Music, good ol' EAR/Rational and others
for reliable, cheap, and all that good stuff service.
Now where's that Plaid album???
Happy holidays,

[Producer] Gary Kurtz told me a couple of days ago that for a time George
wanted Luke to be played by a midget, and my aunt and uncle would be midgets
so that when he goes to another world, they're all giants to him. At one time
George wanted to make us all Japanese actors. // Mark Hamill, 1976, on the eve
