...was listening to hab the other day, specifically 'mashed tatees,' and the voice asking "why do you hate mashed potatoes?" sounded an awful lot like paul mccartney. lo and behold, rdj describes his voice as "tender, a little like paul mccartney," in a mixmag interview. while this seems like nitpicking, is the voice in 'mashed potatoes' that of the Almighty rdj? and just who is the young'un mouthing off about the taters? Nope.. The sample from Mashed Potatoes, and from Every Day, is from an old 60's LP called Children Talking, which, according to my mint condition sleeve notes <grin>, is on the Music For Pleasure label. It's a collection of interviews conducted by Mr. Harold Williamson, with schoolchildren around the country, broadcast on a BBC Radio show of the same name, and I can tell you there are *tons* more snippets that are CRYING OUT to be sampled.. ..Just wait till you hear 'I got a slug on me lettuce, a wasp in me trifle, and insects in me cabbage..' Most recently, this LP was sampled by Jimpster, on the track 'Bad Hair Blues', on Freerange records UK. Brilliant record, I recommend it. NP - Nort Route - Balil

So could you tell us then what exactly is being said on AFX's Children Talking and Everyday? I've always wondered myself (and I know others have also)...
