Hi Folks,
No-one else has mentioned this so I thought I'd better. This is an
event organised jointly by the cultural studies departments of
Lancaster University and Leeds University and has UK Arts Council
funding. Government money for IDM?!? Maybe I live in a civilised
country after all!
It will be taking place next Tuesday (Sept. 17th) in BacktoBasics in
Leeds from 1pm to 4am and costs 12 quid or 8 quid concessions for a
day pass. During the day there will be events, discussion forums,
internet link-ups, a cubase workshop, performances etc. and a chance to rub
shoulders with some of your heroes. In the evening (11pm onwards)
Haywire, Leeds based techno bods, will be putting on a club night with
Vogel, Quayle, and Weatherall DJing. Autechre and Locust will be
performing live.
O.K, so the subject line might be hype but check out this line up:
Andrew Weatherall
Cristian Vogel
Daz Quayle
Autechre
Matt Black (Coldcut)
Locust
Kris Needs
The Wire Magazine Sound System
The Sprawl
Calvin Bush (Muzik magazine)
Talvin Singh
...and many other leading figures (as the flyer states) will all be
there in some capacity.
You can get booking info from: fsonic@lancaster.ac.uk and can buy
tickets from Crash, Jumbo and Eastern Bloc in Leeds, Eastern Bloc in
Manchester and Fat Cat in London.
Hope to see a few of you there.
kisses,
Rob ;-)
