Their next album is supposed to have a harder, trancier sound than earlier stuff. I think it's due out October? Anyhowz, if you've seen them in the last year this is probably some of the material you've heard. I would check this out thoroughly, the Cleveland ENIT has had a LOT of problems with acts cancelling etc... and in a related note Orb was supposed to open for Meat Beat in Chicago a couple nights ago but instead it was just Alex Patterson spinning records... and from all accounts by people there he's a horrible DJ, and MBM performed a very weak set. I wouldn't say that MBM were weak, they seemed pretty on, and the crowd was into it. The sound man should be shot though. The mix was all drums and bass. Hi All Has anyone heard the Orb play live in the recentish past? last time I heard them play they really played it hard! Admittedly I havent been following them much of late but does anyone know of anything they have released that has been of this 'hardness'? Anything you know of would be very much of interest to me. Hello Martin, I know what you mean. I saw the Orb a while back and Alex was pumping out some very upbeat music. But I just saw him last month, and the show was super mellow. Totally different from the other show I saw. He played one track that was great part Drum N' Bass and part Dub. I am really looking forward to the new album. I am very happy to hear this personally because although Dr.Pat is an obvious icon for ambient dub, I have missed some of the dancier elements in there more recent releases. And they can knock you block off if you let them with their harder edged stuff...

does anyone know where I can find tour dates for the current Orb travellers? Specifically in the Midwest U.S. (yes, sadly stranded out here in corn field land). Thanks bunches, FreyGuy
