first: can anyone shed some light on violet's "central pro nyc" (radio rhythm)? "burn the elastic" has been the only thing i have had the pleasure to hear by this apparent richard brown/chris duckenfield (rac) nom de pleur. this "new" one has been kicking around playlists for about four months now. my local merchants are baffled. they can't find this record, either. i don't believe it's distributed by watts. second: can i get an impressions on: spooky "point blank" compulsion's "juvenile scene detective" (a slew of remixes over four seperate 12 inchers including works altered by graham massey, howie b, scanner and static)(one little indian) local hero "airbag" (kid loops on filter) friends lovers and family "pressure" (lush) melting pot "something's wrong" (10 denk) carl stone "emit 1196" (emit, which means i'll buy it anyway...) blue "mexican church" (emissions, i would assume...) the kudos digest "c is for cherries" (kudos)(i only recognized two of the band names on this compilation: fretless azm and micheal newman) kirlian "who's got the flava" (disco b) the advent "new beginnings pt 1+2" bionic skank "compadre gringo" (pharma) third: what's the story with this surgeon kid? i realize that it's the way of the music press to keep the crank turning, but he was all the hype for about two weeks and now i can't find info on the surge anywhere. opinions? starting points? some pretty heavy fellas touted him playlist style... fourth: has anyone heard from being? his double cd on emissions was on point with layouts and polyrhythms in weirdass time. see above concerning press, being was called the future of scary ambience. anyone know of anymore plans? fifth: has anyone heard/seen the bios double seven inch? anyone know where i can get it? thanks for letting me tax your time on now: florence "dominions" ===================================== cameron bowden cameron@imagina.com blacksmith on the anvil in your ear _____________________________________

Really cool, downtempo beats. The title track is an epic hip-hop cut with fresh-as-fuck rapping from Queens' own Indio, while the flip contains two very sexy hip-hop/electro hybrids.

I saw a copy at Throb in NYC the other day.... - Matthew

From: "mr. selfish", INTERNET:cameron@imagina.com TO: (unknown), INTERNET:IDM@HYPERREAL.COM DATE: 7/11/96 6:35 AM RE: (idm) gang of questions 4th world communication here's what we know / have heard melting pot "something's wrong" (10 denk) lovely fluent drum'n'bass , with female/ male vocals , nice and relaxed for those sunday sessions blue "mexican church" (emissions, i would assume...) Yes, double LP , much more together than the "Resistance" set, Dub soundscapes , sometimes with the beats so spaced that the groove threatens to fall apart, other tracks on latin american/ salsa tip with a few hip hop abstract beats thrown in, underpinned by wobble - esqe bass quake . Highly recommended the kudos digest "c is for cherries" (kudos)(i only recognized two of the band names on this compilation: fretless azm and micheal newman) Not released yet! , from distributers of the finest music in the uk. Check out Holistic, 7th Voyage , Ignition Muzik , Ifach , Pure Plastic, 10 Denk , Trelik , Honeydipped, Pork label to name a few! kirlian "who's got the flava" (disco b) is this the old double 12" , came out about 5 months ago!, can remember getting good feedback from customers , can't remember what it sounded like! third: what's the story with this surgeon kid? i realize that it's the way of the music press to keep the crank turning, but he was all the hype for about two weeks and now i can't find info on the surge anywhere. opinions? starting points? some pretty heavy fellas touted him playlist style... Real name tony Childs , resident at a club in birmingham called House of God , has own label Downwards , (11 singles to Date, not all by him!), releases on Soma , done remixes for Dave Clarke, DHS , soundwise , reference points Jeff Mills , Robert Hood , DJ Hell , twisted metallic techno grooves with da funk! Recommended releases Magneze 12" (Downwards Lin006) Pet 2000 12" (Downwards Lin011) Communications LP (Downwards DNLP001) fourth: has anyone heard from being? his double cd on emissions was on point with layouts and polyrhythms in weirdass time. see above concerning press, being was called the future of scary ambience. anyone know of anymore plans? don't know check out Emmissions Web Site (can't remember URL) , he is from Edinburgh! fifth: has anyone heard/seen the bios double seven inch? anyone know where i can get it? is this the release on Eat Raw? , if so , it only got limited distribution in Germany sonic assassin@4thworld http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/4thworld on now - Derrick May - Innovator Jap CD (Salsa Life)
