i have a favor to ask all of you... i would like to know what your favorite intelligent/interesting dance tracks are and on which disk or other medium i can find them on. you know, those killer tracks that melt your brain, bring a smile to your face and make your ass move. i am going to be djing a little, i stress little, club next week and i want to rock the place. i am fairly new to the whole genre and live vacuous city, so i dont get much contact with this kind of music (idm in general). basically, i find out about it from you people. bring on the goods ericp

I feel compelled to name Autechre's "Flutter" (Anti EP). An extraordinary track with a cute little synth line and stuff, but with the principal distinction of a non-repetitive beat. The rhythm is easy to ride in spite of this, and while it might not be an ideal top-of-the-night rush track, it'd be a real interesting one to play earlier in your set. Additionally, a couple of the tracks on Anvil Vapre are slammin' dance material. You could do a lot worse than program the Black Dog's "Barbola Work" off Spanners, too. Stonking! I have jungle, I have trance, I've 4/4 stuff to which I dance, but never in my life have I come across a bona fide idm track that has made me jump up out of my recliner and grooooooove like "Gob Bots" by Muziq off the Bluff Limbo album. Don't you all agree?
