I bought the import double CD and have been going back and forth about this album for quite sometime. On the one hand, I feel it is an impressive work that holds my respect for its emotion, motion and artistry. On the other hand, some of it is just too cheesy for me. Another part of my problem with it is that I prefer less vocals and more linear phrases rather than a bunch of tired rhythm & blues harmonies over breakbeats. I also wish that it was harder overall. However, I regularly put these biases aside to try to enjoy some of the groundbreaking music that this album definitely contains. I am also eagerly awaiting to see what comes next. From what I understand, the double CD version is far superior to the single disc ( sort of like the Orbs first record ). If you live in the SF bay area, the Virgin megastore has lots of the 2CD version. Here is the 2CD tracklisting : Goldie - Timeless ( Metalheads/FFrr Records ) disc one : 1. Timeless - 21:01 2. Saint Angel - 7:14 3. State of Mind - 7:05 4. This is a Bad - 5:56 5. Sea of Tears - 12:03 6. Jah the Seventh Seal - 6:36 disc two : 1. A Sense of Rage ( Sensual V.I.P. mix ) - 7:05 2. Still Life - 10:50 3. Angel - 4:56 4. Adrift - 8:29 5. Kemistry - 6:48 6. You & Me - 7:04 If someone else could please post the single disc track info for comparison it would be appreciated. Check out the Goldie interview in the new XLR8R magazine (from San Francisco ) PS - Goldie's music can be IDM, Jungle, & Popular - not always at the same time, but at its best when it is. PT23

1. Timeless (21.01) 2. Saint Angel (7.14) 3. State of Mind (7.05) 4. Sea of Tears (12.03) 5. Angel (4.56) 6. Sensual (8.05) 7. Kemistry (6.48) 8. You & Me (7.04) I'd have to agree with you, _Timeless_ is quite cheesy in spots, especially the "State of Mind" track, as well as all of the vocal bits. I just wish there would be more jungle artists that use more interesting drum and bass sounds. They almost always seem to use a dubby-sounding bass and boring snare + kick sounds, as well as a fast 16th tambourine pattern (AHB and Plug excluded, of course). Speaking of unusual instrumentation, would anyone agree that "stud" on _Tri Repetae_ has a jungly feel to it? GD
