Just heard a new compilation of Plus 8,Definitive and probe labels : netWORKS.1 on intelliNET !K7035cd 1. Speedy J - Something for your mind 2. PLastikman - Spaz 3. F.U.S.E - Into the space 4. Speedy J - Spikkels 5. Ian Pooley - The brunkenkopt at 7am 6. UTU - Samsara 7. Plastikman - Electriks 8. Robotman - DoodaDoo(plastikman rmx) 9. V-room G-hertz 10. Hazed - bells 11. UP! - Nightflight Tracks 2,3,7,8,11 composed by by Ritchie Hawtin, and 1 & 4 by speedy J are of their usually high standard and I wont atempt to redefine their styles Ian Pooleys track is of Speedy J qualities -mellow but addictive dance groove with squelchy melodic acid. UTU - 4/4 Kickdrum with screw with your head low to high frequency bleeps. Robotman - This plastiK man comes up with another classic remix (i'm a fan after TG performance and alphawave remix). V-room bring New Order influences of Confusion - Power Corruption & Lies and Brotherhood eras ie electro right up to date. Hazed - Build up layered beats from ambient to techno to get a bit funky and then tribal, with a bit of acid for good measure. This track just keeps on movin. Disclaimer: this is not a Review because I do not claim to have the relevant experience etc but IMHO this is good comp, and I would class as quality IDM. Warren G. Earle_w@solent.ac.uk
