I'm glad I stirred up controversy -- it is apparent that there are other
jungle/breaks comps out there that might be better.
To define HOOWP1, I would say that it was a misnomer to call it a 'mix'
record, since it really is a string of tracks more or less beatmatched without
silence between the cuts. Many of the cuts on the disk are quite strong,
however. They're all very, very short, which makes me wonder if they're edits.
I can't imagine doing vinyl DJ'ing where you drop a new tune every 2 1/2
minutes.
One interesting thing about listening to jungle is the extent to
which it informs the work of more 'mainstream' IDM types like Muziq.
