I go along with current opinion, what with Mr James not turning up for Nosferatu, ABIV, Phlid et al, I think he's definitely peaked, not like the "I haven't started yet" stories we used to hear. IF ABV is a stormer then I'll happily eat my words, as I still hold all the previous stuff as work of a genius. Also disappointing : Global Chillage, although it claims to have 300 samples it sounds like a synth-fest to me, not like the inspired "Flying High". Although IDM is great for its variance, I'm much more into the dubby mad side of things (like EBN & MBM now that you lucky americans have got Jack Dangers, now we'll have to wait for the imports instead of the other way around!) than this new electronic stuff like Vibert & Simmonds, Autechre, Biosphere etc etc Playing in my head : Depth Charge ("Nine Deadly Venoms") : Number Nine!! Apparently there are two reasons why RDJ decided not to do the soundtrack. Firstly, its was being advertised as a "live remix" when thats not what it was to be at all, he was going to create and entire new soundtrack. Secondly, the film shown was not in fact the original version as promised, but some naff remake or something like that. :: Alan M.
