I've been listening to mu-ziq nonstop since getting the CD last week.
Being fairly familiar w/ the instruments involved (too familiar w/ the
damned HR16!), I'd have to say that it IS within the realm of possibility
that that is his actual gear list. I hear LOTS of weird feedback &
distortion techniques all over the place. The drum sound really fucks w/
me - I keep thinking they yanked out the HR16 ROM & replaced it w/ an EPROM
(I know it can be done - I've done it). It's structured like it was
definitately done on a 4-track. mu-ziq wins the Studio 808 awards for
"Best Use of Distortion in a Starring Role" and "Best Makeup" for the
Digital in Analogue Drag costume.
I'm not sure that I like tango 'n vectif, but I know I really love it.
It's really fucked up my current preconceptions about music.
